Triangle Rock Club was started by of two friends with one vision. Climbing isn't just a business for us. As Force Reconnaissance Veterans of the United States Marine Corps, who served on countless security and military missions, both climbing and fitness are a big part of our lives. We've rescued people on mountaintops and extracted them safely from the bottom of ravines. We thought we'd share a brief overview of our experiences and look forward to sharing this sport with you! - Andrew & Luis
Over the years, we've worked on everything from International Dignitary Protection details to private security and reconnaissance for groups including the US Department of Defense, US State Department, US Secret Service, United Nations, and private organizations; working in Morocco, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Haiti, Bosnia, Nigeria and Kuwait. Our climbing certifications come from the American Mountain Guides Association and the American Avalanche Institute. We mastered our rope and rescue skills through the Mountain Warfare Center, Mountain Rescue Association, and various law enforcement offices. After Military Freefall School, you realize the best part really is the climb.
In regards to climbing experience, ours runs the gamut
From leading traditional routes in Red Rocks, Joshua Tree, South Lake Tahoe, and the grand Tetons out west to climbing in Colorado, Seneca Rocks, WV and the Shawgunks in New York - we love to get outside and on the rock! You'll even catch us ice climbing; leading routes throughout New England, including the ascent of the famed Black Dike on Cannon Cliff. Our alpine and mountaineering backgrounds have led us around the world and back again. We've enjoyed summer ascents of Mt. Whitney (CA) via the Mountaineer route and multiple ascents of Mt. Hood (OR), and Mt. Shasta (CA). In the winter, we've ascended Mt. Fuji, (Japan) several times as well as the Middle Teton (WY), Chair Peak's North face (WA), Mt. Rainier's Liberty Ridge (WA), and guided clients up a winter ascent of Seneca Rocks Pleasant Overhangs route (WV). In between those trips, we have extensive ski mountaineering experience in the Sierra Nevada Mts. (CA), Norway, and Japan.
Think all that climbing would slow us down? Think again.

Andrew, Managing Partner
Andrew is a big participant in adventure races, placing 3rd in Oregon's Gorge Games in 2002 and a 2nd place finish in the 2006 Tidewater Traverse, VA. His other notable adventure races include participation in one of the most difficult expedition distance races, the Southern Traverse in New Zealand and the Endorphine Fix race in West Virgina.. He's the crazy type that enters marathons and triathlons. He likes to skydive, scuba dive, mountain bike and road bike. When he's not on the road, he's also an accomplished whitewater kayaker (we can't lose him, even in the class IV+ rapids). His most recent adventure was a successful climb of El Cap via the Nose, Yosemite's classic big wall.

Luis, Managing Partner
Luis is both a climber and workaholic. When he's not climbing or working, he's a DOD Certified Anti-Terrorism instructor, black belt martial arts instructor/trainer, sky diver, and a scuba diver. He's has been awarded numerous decorations and awards during his service in OEF and OIF. After multiple overseas deployments and combat action, we're making every effort to transition him from public to private service. If you want to learn to climb and be a general bad*ss, Luis is the guy to talk to. Stop by the gym and help keep him around before he heads overseas (and back to work) again!
